Mission

The City Secretary’s Office manages the core administrative and record‑keeping functions of the City of Sinton. As the custodian of official city records—such as Council minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts—the office handles open records requests in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act.

The Office manages the publication and posting of legal notices, board and commission agendas, tracks and administers member terms and attendance, and handles the coordination of municipal elections.

Responsibilities


The Office of the City Secretary's mission is to support, facilitate, and strengthen the City of Sinton's governmental process by:

  • Assisting the City Council in fulfilling its duties and responsibilities.
  • Enhancing public participation in the municipal government processes. If citizens would like to speak during the City Council meeting, they can download this form, fill it out, and return it before the meeting begins.
  • Providing citizens with information on formal actions of the City Council, posting of meeting agendas, meeting dates and times; City public information requests and police department information requests; election information; maintaining the Code of Ordinances, Official City Charter, contracts, deeds, the Zoning District Map, and other official City documents. 
  • Providing continuity for Sinton's city government by recording its legislative actions.
  • Maintaining the official records of the City of Sinton.
  • Maintaining and upgrading the Employee Personnel Policy
  • Safeguarding the municipal election process.  
  • Maintaining the Official Election Register for the City of Sinton
  • Processing many types of licenses, bonds, and insurance claims.
